Business Development Specialist

Our team works tirelessly to empower our clients to continually improve their cybersecurity defenses by giving them visibility into the darknet.


The DarkOwl Sales Team is looking for an energetic self-starter who is pro-active in increasing our client base and driving new revenue opportunities. In the role of Sales Development Specialist, you will be responsible securing new customer prospects for DarkOwl. The ideal candidate is results-driven, has strong and natural sales talents, and is committed to creating new business opportunities. The strongest candidates will have a high attention to detail, comfortable working independently, with strong market research and analytical skills.

This position is based in Denver, CO

Position Responsibilities

  • Initiate sales cycle by generating and cultivating new leads

  • Secure new qualified leads to pass onto sales team

  • Identify key industry decision makers and create meeting/demo opportunities for DarkOwl leaders/sales team

  • Grow business into new Industry verticals

  • Quickly develop thorough knowledge of company products/services

  • Able to maintain a high volume of daily prospecting emails and calls

  • Able to be convincing and commanding on the phone, and to quickly establish credibility and rapport

  • Able to deliver a demonstration via phone/screenshare presentations customized for each client

  • Develop, manage, and coordinate online promotional and advertising campaigns, working closely with our Marketing department


Position Qualifications

  • Must possess excellent written skills

  • Interpersonal communications skills- able to articulate compelling messaging

  • Self-motivated, creative, results driven, solution oriented, direct and convincing when it’s right for the customer, competitive, driven to succeed, financially-motivated

  • Passionate about selling and creating value for customers

  • Successful experience in Data as a Service or Software as a Service verticals is a plus

  • Ability to organize own workload with excellent time-management skills

  • Ability to interact with people on all levels ensuring that all external and internal communication is carried out to a high standard

  • Collaborative team player open to feedback and growth in role

  • Passionate about startup culture and willingness to help build sales processes and systems

  • Ability to remain focused and flexible during rapid change

  • Adept at identifying goals and priorities

  • Familiar with Automated CRM – Pipedrive Preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel

  • Familiarity with online and/or offline 3rd party research

  • Excellent references (recent and relevant) from both former clients and employers

  • Prior experience or personal interest in anything darknet-related

  • BA/BS degree.
